Job summary

Doorways is seeking a HomeStart Case Manager in Arlington, VA. The role supports survivors and families exiting shelters, providing psychosocial assessments, trauma-informed counseling, and housing stability planning. The HCM collaborates with an interdisciplinary team, coordinates housing searches, and participates in 24/7 on-call rotation.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ work experience in social services and mental-health related fields.
• Thorough knowledge of homelessness, domestic violence and housing issues.
• Flexible, self-starter with the ability to multi-task and collaborate in a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform ongoing psychosocial assessments and provide trauma-informed counseling.
• Lead goal planning to achieve housing stability and safety.
• Coordinate housing searches and support transitions from shelter to housing.
• Maintain client records and ensure confidentiality.
• Provide after-hours on-call support and crisis intervention as needed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and community partners for services.
