Job summary

BRC is seeking a Community Technician to provide a consistent presence for individuals experiencing homelessness, including crisis support, safety monitoring, and compassionate care. The role emphasizes trauma-informed engagement and professional boundaries while enabling growth toward case management and leadership tracks.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Strong communication and basic computer skills.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and maintain boundaries.
• Willingness to obtain required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, orderly residential environment through rounds.
• Engage residents using trauma-informed and de-escalation techniques.
• Respond to conflicts, safety concerns, and crises professionally.
• Screen residents and visitors with dignity and security.
• Provide emergency support (First Aid/CPR, Narcan – training provided).
• Complete documentation (logbooks, incident reports, progress notes).
• Support fire safety procedures, inspections, and compliance.
• Assist with meals, escorts, inventory, and facility upkeep.
