Job summary

BRC is seeking a Community Technician to be a consistent, trusted presence for individuals experiencing homelessness. You will monitor, engage, and support residents, including emergency response and documentation, across day-to-day shifts.

This full-time role offers training, certifications, and opportunities for advancement within a mission-driven team, with overtime required and a strong emphasis on safety and care.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Strong communication skills and basic computer proficiency.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and maintain professional boundaries.
• Willingness to obtain required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, orderly residential environment through active monitoring and rounds.
• Engage residents using trauma-informed and de-escalation techniques.
• Respond to conflicts, safety concerns, and crises professionally.
• Screen residents and visitors while maintaining dignity and security.
• Provide emergency support (First Aid/CPR, Narcan – training provided).
• Complete documentation (logbooks, incident reports, progress notes).
• Support fire safety procedures, inspections, and compliance.
• Assist with meals, escorts, inventory, and facility upkeep.
