Job summary

BRC seeks a Community Technician to provide supportive, trauma-informed care to individuals experiencing homelessness. You will be a steady, trusted presence during crises and transitions, ensuring safety, documentation, and compassionate interaction across shifts.

The role emphasizes trauma-informed care, de-escalation, and collaboration with a mission-driven team, with training and certifications provided as part of ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Strong communication skills and basic computer proficiency.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and maintain professional boundaries.
• Willingness to obtain required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, orderly residential environment through active monitoring and rounds.
• Engage residents using trauma-informed and de-escalation techniques.
• Respond to conflicts, safety concerns, and crises professionally.
• Screen residents and visitors while maintaining dignity and security.
• Provide emergency support (First Aid/CPR, Narcan – training provided).
• Complete documentation (logbooks, incident reports, progress notes).
• Support fire safety procedures, inspections, and compliance.
• Assist with meals, escorts, inventory, and facility upkeep.
