BRC is seeking a Community Technician to serve as a consistent, trusted presence for individuals experiencing homelessness. The role involves maintaining a safe residential environment, engaging residents with sensitivity, and responding to crises with calm and professional judgment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Excellent communication and basic computer skills.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and maintain professional boundaries.
• Willingness to obtain required certifications.
• Experience with homelessness, mental health, or substance use populations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, orderly residential environment through active monitoring and rounds.
• Engage residents using trauma-informed and de-escalation techniques.
• Respond to conflicts, safety concerns, and crises professionally.
• Screen residents and visitors while maintaining dignity and security.
• Provide emergency support (First Aid/CPR, Narcan – training provided).
• Complete documentation (logbooks, incident reports, progress notes).
• Support fire safety procedures, inspections, and compliance.
• Assist with meals, escorts, inventory, and facility upkeep.
