Job summary

BRC is seeking a Community Technician to serve as a consistent, trusted presence for individuals experiencing homelessness. The role involves maintaining a safe residential environment, performing rounds, and supporting residents in moments of crisis with empathy and professional boundaries.

Ideal candidates have strong communication, basic computer skills, and the willingness to obtain required certifications.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Strong communication and basic computer skills.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and set professional boundaries.
• Willingness to obtain required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, orderly residential environment through active monitoring and rounds.
• Engage residents using trauma-informed and de-escalation techniques.
• Respond to conflicts, safety concerns, and crises professionally.
• Screen residents and visitors while maintaining dignity and security.
• Provide emergency support (First Aid/CPR, Narcan – training provided).
• Complete documentation (logbooks, incident reports, progress notes).
• Support fire safety procedures, inspections, and compliance.
• Assist with meals, escorts, inventory, and facility upkeep.
