Job summary

BRC is hiring a Community Technician to provide direct support and maintain a safe residential environment for individuals experiencing homelessness. The role emphasizes trauma-informed engagement, de-escalation, and crisis response across day-to-day operations.

Responsibilities include monitoring, documenting incidents, assisting with meals and facility upkeep, and supporting safety inspections. Training and certifications are provided, with opportunities for career growth within the program.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED.
• Excellent communication with residents and staff.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and maintain professional boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, orderly residential environment through active monitoring and rounds.
• Engage residents using trauma-informed and de-escalation techniques.
• Respond to conflicts, safety concerns, and crises professionally.
• Screen residents and visitors while maintaining dignity and security.
• Provide emergency support (First Aid/CPR, Narcan) with training provided.
• Complete documentation (logbooks, incident reports, progress notes).
• Support fire safety procedures, inspections, and compliance.
• Assist with meals, escorts, inventory, and facility upkeep.
