Job summary

BRC is seeking a Community Technician to provide direct, frontline support for individuals experiencing homelessness. This role focuses on maintaining a safe residential environment, applying trauma-informed techniques, and responding calmly to crises with professionalism.

You will engage residents, perform rounds, document incidents, and assist with safety procedures, meals, and mobility. Training and certifications are provided, with opportunities for growth within the program.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Strong communication skills and basic computer proficiency.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and maintain professional boundaries.
• Willingness to obtain required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, orderly residential environment through active monitoring and rounds.
• Engage residents using trauma-informed and de-escalation techniques.
• Respond to conflicts, safety concerns, and crises professionally.
• Screen residents and visitors while maintaining dignity and security.
• Provide emergency support (First Aid/CPR, Narcan – training provided).
• Complete documentation (logbooks, incident reports, progress notes).
• Support fire safety procedures, inspections, and compliance.
• Assist with meals, escorts, inventory, and facility upkeep.
