BOWERY RESIDENTS' COMMITTEE in New York, NY is seeking a Community Technician to provide consistent, trusted presence for residents experiencing homelessness. You will monitor and support residents during crises, perform safety rounds, and assist with daily operations to maintain a calm, secure environment.

The role emphasizes trauma-informed engagement, de-escalation, and documentation, with opportunities for growth into case management and leadership.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Strong communication skills and basic computer proficiency.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and maintain professional boundaries.
• Willingness to obtain required certifications.

Responsabilités

• Maintain a safe, orderly residential environment through active monitoring and rounds.
• Engage residents using trauma-informed and de-escalation techniques.
• Respond to conflicts, safety concerns, and crises professionally.
• Screen residents and visitors while maintaining dignity and security.
• Provide emergency support (First Aid/CPR, Narcan training provided).
• Complete documentation (logbooks, incident reports, progress notes).
• Support fire safety procedures, inspections, and compliance.
• Assist with meals, escorts, inventory, and facility upkeep.
