Bowery Residents' Committee, Inc. is seeking a Community Technician to maintain a safe, orderly residential environment and support individuals experiencing homelessness.

You will respond to crises with calm, use de-escalation techniques, and document incidents as part of a frontline, hands-on role. This full-time position offers training, opportunities for growth into case management, and a mission-driven team focused on staff wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills are required.
• Basic computer proficiency is expected.
• Willingness to obtain required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, orderly residential environment through active monitoring and rounds.
• Engage residents using trauma-informed and de-escalation techniques.
• Respond to conflicts, safety concerns, and crises professionally.
• Screen residents and visitors while maintaining dignity and security.
• Provide emergency support (First Aid/CPR, Narcan – training provided).
• Complete documentation (logbooks, incident reports, progress notes).
• Support fire safety procedures, inspections, and compliance.
• Assist with meals, escorts, inventory, and facility upkeep.
