Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer to apply data-driven CI, engineering, and automation to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost across operations.

The role interfaces with employees at all levels and aligns with Operations Management, reporting to the Lead Engineer or CI Manager. The position requires transportation modeling expertise and strong Power BI/Excel skills, with preferred experience in Appian Direct Route.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
• 5+ years in Transportation or Supply Chain Industry.
• Transportation Experience (Transportation Management, Dedicated, FTL, LTL).
• Microsoft Office Suite with Access, Excel, PowerPoint & Visio.
• Data visualization (PowerBI, Tableau) and database programming (SQL, DAX).

Responsibilities

• Collects data and performs statistical analysis; maps and documents processes.
• Identifies process gaps; develops and executes CI plans to drive value.
• Manages CI and engineering projects; supports go-live and certifications.
• Develops competency in engineering methods, Lean tools, and quality standards.
• Facilitates Value Stream Maps & Kaizen Events; coaches on lean methods.
• Reports progress against site objectives; makes Supply Chain strategy recommendations.
