Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer to drive data‑driven CI, engineering, and automation across transportation operations.

You will leverage analytics and lean tools to identify root causes and deliver improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and cost. The role requires hands-on experience with Power BI dashboards, Excel proficiency, and transportation modeling tools; Appian Direct Route experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 5+ years in transportation or supply chain preferred.

• Experience in transportation management and related systems.
• Strong MS Office skills including Access, Excel, PowerPoint & Visio.
• Data viz (Power BI/Tableau) and database programming (SQL/DAX) preferred.
• Experience with lean methods and CI tools (PDCA, Kaizen, VSM).
• Knowledge of dedicated services and managed networks in transportation.
• Lean methodology and supply chain certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collects data and performs statistical analysis; maps processes and closes gaps.
• Develops and manages continuous improvement plans to drive customer value.
• Leads CI projects and supports go-live and steady-state certifications.
• Develops competency in engineering methods, lean tools, and quality standards.
• Coaches teams in lean methods and CI to achieve operational excellence.
• Provides regular progress reports and supports transportation strategy recommendations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
