Job summary

RTD - Regional Transportation District of Denver, CO is seeking a Supervisor of Work Assignments for commuter rail operations. You will oversee daily staffing, supervise Operators, adjust schedules, and ensure service is covered and on time across multiple modes while coordinating with operations and union representatives.

This safety‑sensitive role requires a high school diploma, at least one year in transit operations, and a valid Colorado driver's license.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
1 year in transit operations, maintenance, schedule making, or related support function.
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Must have a valid Colorado driver’s license or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire.
No DUI, DWI, or Reckless Driving violations in the past 5 years.

Responsibilities

Supervise Operators with direction, training, coaching, and equitable treatment.
Monitor daily operations, identify service-related issues, and implement solutions.
Oversee daily pullout, workforce utilization, and scheduling to ensure service coverage and on-time performance.
Manage assignments, Hours of Service compliance, leave tracking, and payroll-related documentation.
Coordinate special services, detours, and contingencies; issue and collect Operator equipment.
Prepare technical reports, operational updates, and maintain records and dispatch communications.
