Job summary

Regional Transportation District (RTD) in Boulder is seeking a Supervisor, Transit System & Support (Bus) to oversee bus operators and coordinate real-time service control with a focus on safety, reliability, and customer experience.

The role reports to the Assistant Manager, Operations and requires leadership in incident response and collaboration across dispatch and cross-functional teams. A strong commitment to safety and regulatory compliance is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year in transit operations, maintenance, schedule making, or a related support function. Must possess a valid driver's license.
• Minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in bus operations, including working directly with operations staff and supporting safe and reliable vehicle operations.
• Must pass Division of Services for People with Disabilities (DSPD) background screening. CDL with Passenger Endorsement required.
• Colorado driver's license and no more than 4 moving violations in past 3 years; no DUI in last 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Supervise bus operators, including training, coaching, performance management, and ensuring equitable treatment.
• Oversee daily bus operations by resolving operational issues, supporting operators, and ensuring safe, reliable service delivery.
• Investigates accidents, incidents, disputes, disturbances, and customer complaints; reschedules buses as needed.
• Maintain real-time communication with the Regional Operations Center to coordinate service adjustments.
• Respond to service disruptions and emergencies with operational solutions and coordination with dispatch.
• Ensure compliance with bus operating rules, policies, procedures, and federal regulations, including fit-for-duty observations.
