Job summary

Regional Transportation District (RTD) is seeking a Transit Operations Supervisor to oversee daily staffing, vehicle requirements, and on-time service. You will build and adjust schedules, monitor overtime, and respond to last-minute changes to prevent missed trips.

The role requires strong collaboration with operations staff and union leadership to keep service running smoothly. This safety-sensitive position emphasizes safety compliance, data analysis, and the preparation of detailed reports

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of one year in transit operations or related function; must have a valid driver’s license.
• Must have a valid Colorado driver's license or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Ability to obtain Light Rail Vehicle Operator certification within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Operators with direction, training, coaching, performance feedback, and equitable treatment.
• Conduct fit-for-duty observations and ensure Operator compliance with rules and regulations.
• Monitor daily operations and implement solutions for service issues (schedules, routes, detours, reliability).
• Oversee daily pullout, workforce utilization, vehicle assignments, and scheduling to ensure service coverage.
• Manage hours of service, leave tracking, and timekeeping; prepare payroll documentation and audits.
• Coordinate special services, detours, and service disruptions; assign work per bargaining agreements.
