Job summary

Transdev North America in the greater Boston area is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee daily transit operations, ensure on-time service, supervise staff, and maintain safety and service standards for Boston Public Schools.

You will partner with leadership to drive operational excellence, support technology implementations (VDS, Zonar, AVL), monitor service metrics, and coordinate dispatching and performance improvement across the region.

Qualifications

• Requires strong customer service delivery, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities, with influence without authority.
• Prior transit or transportation experience and experience supervising staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide 24/7 management presence for frontline operations staff.
• Monitor and evaluate daily operations, attendance, on-time performance, and safety data.
• Ensure performance indicators meet client and corporate expectations and address issues.
• Lead implementation and support of operations technologies (VDS, Zonar, AVL).
• Develop manpower needs and train staff on technology solutions to improve service quality and finances.
