Job summary

Transdev Service, Inc. seeks an Assistant General Manager for its Boston Public Schools transportation contract. The role directs operations and programs, coordinating supervisors, dispatch personnel and drivers to ensure on-time performance and safe service.

You will monitor KPIs, manage budgets, and work closely with maintenance to maximize equipment availability while upholding union and DOT standards. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 5 years of management experience or 2 years in passenger transportation management.
• Excellent communication & customer service skills.
• Must be able to work shifts or flexible schedules.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Comprehensive knowledge of public management and organization theories.
• Thorough knowledge of transit system operations.

Responsibilities

• Supervises daily activities of all operators and coordinates supervisors and dispatch personnel.
• Oversees scheduling of Drivers, Dispatchers and Supervisors.
• Monitors operations and reports to leadership with daily updates.
• Monitors KPI and reports variances to location General Manager.
• Monitors budgeted hours and reports variances to management.
• Ensures On-Time Performance and timely yard departures.
• Coordinates with Maintenance to ensure equipment availability.
• Analyzes performance metrics and improves routing and processes.
• Handles interdepartmental issues and employee relations.
