Job summary

WSP is seeking a Traffic Management Center Technician I to work from our Knoxville, TN office, with night and weekend shifts. This role provides human monitoring of ITS devices, handles incident management, and coordinates responses for roadway concerns.

You will enter data, assist in data collection, and help TDOT with repairs of failed devices. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma and 0–2 years in a TMC or traffic management environment, with strong communication and MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• High School diploma.
• 0–2 years experience with a TMC type facility and/or traffic management.
• Strong oral and written communication.
• Proficiency with MS Office, spreadsheets and databases.
• Ability to use digital roadway maps and understand roadway elements.
• Background check clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide human monitoring and operation of ITS devices and traffic control devices per SOPs.
• Traffic Incident Management and coordination of responses for roadway concerns.
• Database entry for incidents, events, and call logs.
• Assist in data collection for system performance and troubleshooting.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and document device failures; issue repair work orders.
• Receive and respond to notices of roadwork, incidents, or asset concerns.
• Answer inquiries and provide information on roadway conditions.
• Prepare reports and support evaluation for the State.
