Job summary

WSP is seeking a Traffic Management Center Technician I to support night and weekend operations from our Memphis, TN office. This role involves monitoring Intelligent Transportation Systems devices, coordinating incident responses, and logging all activities.

You will work with TDOT staff to troubleshoot and prioritize repairs while ensuring safety and adherence to SOPs. Ideal candidates have 0–2 years in a TMC-like environment and strong communication, analytical, and data-entry skills.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• 0–2 years of experience with a TMC-type facility and/or traffic management.
• Strong oral and written communication.
• Proficient in MS Office products, spreadsheets, and databases.
• Analytical and organizational skills.
• Able to work well with TDOT staff and coworkers.
• Must be able to read digital roadway maps and understand roadway elements.
• Criminal History Background Check required.

Responsibilities

• Provide human monitoring and operation of ITS devices and act on guidance from SOPs.
• Traffic Incident Management.
• Coordinate responses for roadway concerns.
• Enter data for incidents, events, and logs.
• Assist in data collection for system performance and troubleshooting.
• Assist TDOT with identifying, troubleshooting, and documenting device failures and arranging repairs.
• Receive and respond to notices of roadwork, incidents, or other TDOT-related information.
• Answer inquiries and coordinate TDOT responses with operational partners.
