Job summary

WSP in Chattanooga, TN is seeking a Traffic Management Center Technician I to support night and weekend operations from the local office. This role offers both full-time and part-time schedules and involves monitoring ITS devices and traffic conditions to respond per SOPs.

You will collaborate with the Mobility Operations Team, TDOT, and other partners, log incidents and activities, and prepare basic reports.

Qualifications

High School diploma is required.
0-2 years of experience with a TMC type facility and/or traffic management.
Strong oral and written communication.
Proficiency in MS Office applications, spreadsheets, and databases.
Capable of working well with co-workers and TDOT staff.
Must be able to use digital roadway maps and have a working knowledge of roadway elements.
All candidates must pass a Criminal History Background Check.

Responsibilities

Provide human monitoring and operation of ITS devices and traffic control devices, following SOP guidance.
Manage traffic incidents and coordinate responses for roadway concerns.
Enter data for incidents, events, and call logs.
Assist in data collection for system performance and troubleshooting.
Identify, troubleshoot, and document device failures in coordination with TDOT; issue work orders for repairs.
Respond to notices of roadwork, incidents, or special events and communicate with operational partners.
