Job summary

The New York City Department of Correction (DOC) seeks five Part-Time Clerical Associates to assist with timekeeping and customer service. Under the Deputy Director, you will review timekeeping documents, troubleshoot issues, and post transactions in CityTime by deadlines.

You will coordinate with facilities, run reports, verify hires and transfers in CityTime, ensure proper cascading to Payroll, and help staff understand citywide timekeeping rules while complying with all laws and policies.

Qualifications

  • Four-year high school diploma or educational equivalent and one year of satisfactory clerical experience.
  • Typing speed 100 keystrokes per minute (20 words per minute).

Responsibilities

  • Review timekeeping documents and actions.
  • Provide excellent customer service by troubleshooting time and leave issues.
  • Post and approve transactions in CityTime by set deadlines.
  • Coordinate with multiple facilities to receive reports and clarity on submitted time-related materials.
  • Run and review system reports on time and pay activity and adjust as needed.
  • Confirm new hires, transfers and separating staff reflect accurately in CityTime.
  • Ensure time and leave transactions cascade into the Payroll system.
  • Assist agency staff in understanding citywide and agency rules and procedures related to timekeeping.
  • Ensure all activity complies with applicable laws, rules, policies, standards, and protocols.
