Job summary

United Rentals is the world’s largest equipment rental provider and seeks an Outside Sales Rep to be the voice and initial contact for customers. You’ll use consultative skills to understand needs and convert prospects into loyal customers.

You will maximize revenue in a defined territory, manage relationships with existing customers, prospect new accounts, collaborate with divisions, and present products and services to clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Three years of sales experience are required.
• Exceptional relationship-building and communication skills.
• Strong planning, problem-solving and negotiation abilities.
• Knowledge of construction or related equipment preferred.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Maximize revenue from facilities and construction sites in a defined geographical territory.
• Maintain and develop relationships with existing customers and their subsidiary companies.
• Prospect and qualify new accounts from existing, dormant, or non-customer accounts, including competitors.
• Collaborate with specialty division representatives to promote cross selling.
• Prepare sales action plans and strategies.
• Develop and present company products and services to current and potential clients.
• Utilize CRM tools to develop a pipeline of opportunities.
• Monitor competitors, market conditions and product development.
