Job description

About Halter

Halter is on a mission to enable farmers and graziers to run the most productive and sustainable operations. Our customers use Halter to break free from time‑intensive constraints of conventional practices, allowing cattle to move at their own pace without quad bikes, dogs, or fences. We are changing lives and transforming an industry, and our team is committed to delivering real change.

About The Role

As a Territory Manager at Halter, you will drive new business growth and ensure customer success within your designated territory. You will execute sales strategies, build strong customer relationships, and meet ambitious growth targets while acting as Halter’s on‑the‑ground representative. Your role focuses on expansion and long‑term customer satisfaction, working closely with cross‑functional teams to share field insights and improve our technology for US farmers.

Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities
  • Prospecting new business by driving up driveways, attending local cattle auctions, and meeting with livestock associations to build a pipeline through outbound lead generation and timely inbound lead follow‑up.
  • Conducting in‑field sales to help potential customers understand Halter’s value, often on horseback, side‑by‑side or at industry events.
  • Expanding opportunities with existing customers by identifying upsell and cross‑sell possibilities to increase overall value.
  • Meeting high‑growth sales targets as a pipeline manager, focusing on day‑to‑day deals while planning for future opportunities.
  • Managing customer accounts to maintain close relationships, provide support, and address product challenges after the sale.
  • Owning territory operations and building relationships with stakeholders from local, state, and federal agencies.
  • Leading customer onboarding and ensuring a smooth transition from sales to implementation.
  • Collecting and sharing field learnings and feedback with teams to advocate for customer needs.
  • Collaborating with support teams to resolve issues and ensure customers feel fully supported.
  • Attending industry events to generate leads and deepen relationships.
  • Contributing to the US sales strategy by providing input to optimize the sales process for the market.
What You’ll Be Great If You Exhibit
  • Driven attitude and strong communication skills; proactive, results‑driven, and adaptable.
  • Ranching or cattle operations experience to connect meaningfully with customers.
  • Sales and customer success expertise with a history of building lasting relationships.
  • Experience managing a large territory with a balanced focus on sales and customer success.
  • Problem‑solving and collaboration ability to work well with cross‑functional teams.
  • Willingness to travel frequently within the territory to engage with customers and prospects.
Bonus Things You Could Bring
  • Familiarity with precision agriculture or virtual fencing technologies.
  • Background in customer‑facing roles within agtech.
  • Experience selling SaaS solutions in a B2B environment.
Our Benefits
  • Annual personal development budget of USD$750.
  • Best‑in‑class health insurance for employees and families.
  • 16 weeks paid parental leave for primary caregivers and 8 weeks for secondary caregivers.
  • Unlimited paid annual leave and wellness leave to recharge.
  • 401(k) plan with a 100% match on the first 3% of contributions and a 50% match on the next 2%.
  • Competitive remuneration package, including salary, benefits, and an employee stock ownership plan.
