Job description

Company Overview

At Halter, we’re on a mission to enable farmers and graziers to run the most productive and sustainable operations. Our customers are using Halter to break free from the time‑intensive constraints of conventional practices. Imagine watching 500 cattle stand up and walk calmly toward their next break—no quad bikes, no dogs, no fences. Just a group of cattle walking at their own pace. People say it looks like magic. Our customers are revolutionizing grazing with Halter. It’s changing lives and transforming an industry. People join Halter to do meaningful work. By joining us you’ll be solving challenging problems within a talented team and a culture built for high performance. Our team out‑think, out‑work and out‑care. We’re committed to delivering real change in the world—it isn’t easy, and in truth, we love that it’s hard.

About The Role

As a Territory Manager at Halter, you will play a critical role in driving new business growth and ensuring customer success within your designated territory. You will be responsible for executing sales strategies, building strong customer relationships, and meeting ambitious growth targets, all while acting as Halter’s on‑the‑ground representative.

What Your Day Could Look Like
  • Prospecting new business: drive up driveways, attend local cattle auctions, meet with livestock associations, and build your new business pipeline through outbound lead generation. Field inbound leads promptly.
  • In‑field sales: meet potential customers on horseback, side‑by‑side or at the kitchen table, and explain how Halter can benefit their pastures.
  • Expanding existing opportunities: identify ways to increase value for current customers, recognizing that not every rancher will collar all of their cows.
  • Hitting sales targets: manage today’s deals while keeping next month in your sights.
  • Customer account management: maintain close relationships after the sale, provide ongoing support, and address challenges with Halter’s products.
  • Territory ownership: take pride in every corner of your territory, engaging high‑level stakeholders from local, state, and federal agencies.
  • Customer onboarding: ensure the best onboarding experience and smooth transition from sales to implementation.
  • Field learnings & feedback: gather customer feedback and advocate for their needs.
  • Collaborating with support teams: resolve customer issues quickly and effectively.
  • Attending industry events: generate leads and deepen relationships with existing customers.
  • Contributing to the US sales strategy: work with the broader team to optimize and evolve the sales process for the US market.
You’ll be great if you exhibit
  • Driven attitude & communication skills: results‑driven, motivated, adaptable, and proactive.
  • Ranching / cattle experience: understanding of the industry’s unique challenges.
  • Sales & customer success expertise: building lasting relationships and creating new business opportunities.
  • Territory management experience: managing a large territory with balanced focus on sales and customer success, ideally within agriculture or technology.
  • Problem‑solving & collaboration ability: resourceful, quick‑thinking, and cross‑functional.
  • Willingness to travel: frequent travel within your territory.
Bonus things you could bring along to the role

  • 401(k) with 100% match on the first 3% you contribute, 50% match on the next 2%.
  • Inclusive remuneration package including salary, benefits, and an employee stock ownership plan.
