Shift4 Knowledge Management is seeking a Technical Writer I to craft clear, user-friendly documentation that supports learning and performance for employees, partners and product end users. The role involves editing, maintaining and validating content within Shift4 guidelines and collaborating with subject-matter experts across teams.

Qualifications

• 1–4+ years of experience in technical writing or related field.
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate complex topics clearly and user-friendly.
• Strong research and information-gathering skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
• Familiarity with documentation tools and CMS is a plus.
• Experience with Salesforce Service Cloud or Zendesk is preferred but not required.
• Understanding of POS and Payments industry is a plus.
• Candidates may be asked to submit writing samples during the interview process.

Responsibilities

• Write, review, edit and maintain technical and process documentation per Shift4 guidelines.
• Collaborate with team to address content gaps and feedback for improvement.
• Identify and address documentation gaps based on user feedback and stakeholder input.
• Produce clear, concise content tailored to the audience.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to improve processes and templates.
• Managment of tasks to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintain consistent formatting, tagging, and structure across content.
• Build relationships with cross-functional stakeholders to support documentation needs.
