Job summary

The University of Rochester is seeking an IT Help Desk Technician to provide first-line support for end-user computing devices across multiple sites. You will troubleshoot OS, connectivity, and application issues, assist with setup and maintenance, and serve as the primary contact for end-users, both remotely and on-site.

Responsibilities include assisting with device deployments, training, and ensuring 24/7 coverage across locations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent and 1 year of relevant experience.
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Willingness to travel between work sites and support 24/7/365 coverage, including nights/weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provides first level technical support for end-user computing devices (desktops, laptops, mobile devices).
• Troubleshoots and resolves device issues, in-person or remote, and assists with setup and maintenance of endpoint devices.
• Acts as primary contact for end-users for OS, connectivity or application issues.
• Participates in project implementations by completing tasks and communicating with project managers.
• Maintains communication to ensure site coverage and, if needed, relocates to other sites.
• Assists with testing and deployment of new and replacement systems, printers and peripherals.
• Provides 1:1 training on hardware and applications as needed.
