Job summary

The University of Rochester is seeking an IT support specialist to provide frontline and second-level assistance for end-user computing devices across campus. You will troubleshoot hardware and software issues, configure and maintain endpoint devices, and serve as the primary contact for users.

This role requires a high school diploma and 2 years of relevant experience, willingness to travel between sites, and the ability to work flexible shifts to ensure 24/7 coverage.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to travel between work sites as needed.
• Flexibility to work shifts to cover 24/7/365 operations.
• Exceptional customer service and strong communication skills.
• Logical thinking with good problem-solving abilities.
• Extensive knowledge of PC operating systems is preferred.
• Proficiency in hardware break/fix and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of Mac computers and peripheral devices is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provides first and second level technical support for end-user computing devices.
• Troubleshoots and resolves device issues remotely or in person; assists with deployment.
• Acts as primary contact for end-users resolving OS, connectivity, or application issues.
• Manages setup, configuration, maintenance and deployment of endpoint devices.
• Assists with developing strategy for endpoint device support.
