Job summary

Micro Center is seeking an Assistant Store Manager - Computer Services in Chicago to lead service operations and drive customer satisfaction in a fast-paced tech retailer environment.

You will oversee the Service Department, mentor staff, ensure certifications, manage budgets, and execute merchandising standards while promoting growth and innovation at the intersection of retail and technology.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of leadership experience with a major big box retailer in a high-volume store setting.
• Experience in all aspects of retail management: driving sales, merchandising, operations, freight flow and technical customer service.
• Experience in human resources functions and capable of hiring, retaining and coaching qualified employees.
• Ability to execute corporate initiatives and analyze the competition.
• A college degree is preferred.
• Physical requirements: lift up to 50 lbs., stand for prolonged periods of time.
• Shifts include hours before and after the store is open to the public and may also include mornings, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Experience within the consumer electronics industry with accountability for P&L and customer satisfaction targets.

Responsibilities

• Maintain orderly operation and safety of all areas; ensure service policies and procedures are followed at store level.
• Achieve customer satisfaction, sales, productivity, payroll and expense goals of the service repair shop.
• Manage the Service Department budget (P&L) and controls.
• Ensure timely resolution of customer and computer issues per policy.
• Provide prompt and courteous customer service; meet satisfaction standards.
• Lead associates to achieve results in customer satisfaction, sales, productivity and solutions.
• Ensure certifications (CompTIA A+ and Apple) are kept up to date.
• Oversee open/close procedures, freight flow and inventory control.
• Serve as manager-in-charge during absence of GM or other store managers.
• Enforce ad set and visual merchandising standards.
• Hire, train and schedule certified staff to service customers.
• Develop and coach staff in customer service, product knowledge and SOPs.
• Handle HR issues per guidelines; coordinate with Regional HR and Store Manager.
• Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
