Job summary

Travelers Insurance in Massachusetts seeks an Account Executive Officer for Technology, coordinating with agents and brokers to provide coverage for new and renewal business. The role requires deep underwriting knowledge and the ability to build strong relationships to drive profitability and growth.

The ideal candidate has 6–8 years in underwriting, CPCU designation, and strong communication skills to navigate complex negotiations and market challenges. Travel to meetings is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree.
• Six to eight years of underwriting experience in commercial lines.
• Deep knowledge of commercial lines products, the regulatory environment, and the local insurance market.
• Strong critical thinking to identify underwriting, marketing, or financial challenges and act on information.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills with agents and brokers.
• CPCU designation.
• Four years of underwriting, claim, operations, risk assessment, actuarial, sales, product, or finance experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage profitability, growth, and retention of an assigned book of business.
• Underwrite and negotiate complex customer accounts to minimize risk and maximize profitability.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with internal partners and across the enterprise to create sales plans and cross-selling opportunities.
• Foster and maintain relationships with external partners by meeting in person with agents and brokers to market Travelers products; travel required.
• Identify and capture new business opportunities using consultative marketing and sales skills.
• Independently develop and execute agency sales plans and partner with the MD to develop region/group sales plans.
• May assist in training and mentoring of less experienced Account Executives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
