Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Six to eight years of underwriting experience with commercial lines.
• Deep knowledge of commercial lines products, the regulatory environment, and the local insurance market.
• Strong critical thinking with risk analysis for decisions in line with risk appetite.
• Excellent communication skills with agents/brokers during negotiations.

Responsibilities

• Manage profitability, growth, and retention of an assigned book of business.
• Underwrite and negotiate complex customer accounts to minimize risk and maximize profitability.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with internal partners to create sales plans and cross-selling opportunities.
• Meet with agents and brokers in person to market and sell Travelers products and retain accounts.
• Identify and capture new business opportunities using consultative sales skills.
• Develop agency sales plans with MD for regional goals.
• Mentor less experienced Account Executives and perform other duties as assigned.
