Job summary

Kirby-Smith Machinery, Inc. seeks a Technical Communications Coordinator to provide expert technical support to technicians and staff while delivering technical training programs.

You will troubleshoot complex equipment issues and liaise between the dealership and manufacturers to ensure accurate technical information. This role requires strong knowledge of heavy equipment systems, excellent communication, and the ability to travel to multiple sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• 5+ years in heavy equipment maintenance/repair or technical support; 2+ years in training/technical communicator role.
• Strong technical knowledge of heavy equipment systems and components.
• Ability to read and follow electrical and hydraulic schematics.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting technical manuals and service procedures.
• Willingness to travel to various sites, including field locations.

Responsibilities

• Communicates Kirby Smith vision and core values.
• Provides advanced technical assistance on diagnostics, maintenance, and repair to technicians.
• Serves as primary contact for resolving complex technical issues in field or shop.
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of equipment models and technologies.
• Performs root cause analysis when needed.
• Supports warranty administration with technical information and claim merit.
• Monitors technical proficiency of technicians and staff.
• Provides feedback to improve technician proficiency.
• Educates to enhance service team proficiency.
• Acts as liaison between dealership and equipment manufacturers for technical information.
• Prepares and disseminates technical bulletins and service manuals.
• Supports field technicians with on-site guidance.
• Diagnoses and resolves field issues to minimize downtime.
• Maintains records of issues, solutions, and training guidance.
• Reports recurring issues to manufacturers for product improvement.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Maintains consistent on-site attendance.
