Job summary

Kirby-Smith Machinery, Inc. is seeking a Technical Communications Coordinator to provide expert technical support to technicians and staff, develop training programs, and troubleshoot complex equipment issues.

You will serve as the liaison between the dealership and equipment manufacturers to ensure accurate and timely communication of technical information. The role requires deep knowledge of heavy equipment systems, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to travel to field sites.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Five years of heavy equipment maintenance/repair or technical support; two years in training/technical communication.
• Strong knowledge of heavy equipment systems and components.
• Proficiency in interpreting technical data and manuals.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reading and following electrical/hydraulic schematics.

Responsibilities

• Communicates and supports the Kirby Smith vision and core values.
• Provides advanced technical assistance for equipment to technicians.
• Acts as primary contact for resolving complex technical issues in field or shop.
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of equipment models and technologies.
• Performs root cause analysis when needed; assists warranty with technical information.
• Monitors technical proficiency of service staff and provides feedback for improvement.
• Educates to enhance the service team's technical proficiency.
• Liaises between dealership and equipment manufacturers for timely information.
• Prepares and disseminates technical bulletins and service manuals.
• Supports field technicians with on-site technical guidance.
