Job summary

Kirby-Smith Machinery, Inc. seeks a Technical Communications Coordinator to deliver expert technical support, develop and deliver training, troubleshoot complex equipment issues, and liaison with manufacturers. You will ensure service staff have the knowledge to maintain and repair heavy equipment efficiently.

The role emphasizes advanced diagnostics, technical bulletin preparation, field guidance, and continuous improvement of technician proficiency, with travel to various sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Five years in heavy equipment maintenance, repair, or technical support.
• Two years in a training or technical communicator role.
• Strong technical knowledge of heavy equipment systems and components.
• Proficient in interpreting technical data, manuals, and service procedures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in reading electrical and hydraulic schematics.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and web-based applications.
• Ability to travel to field sites.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Communicates Kirby-Smith's vision and values to staff.
• Provides advanced technical assistance for all equipment diagnostics, maintenance, and repair.
• Serves as primary contact for resolving complex technical issues in field or shop.
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of equipment models and technologies sold by the dealership.
• Performs root cause failure analysis when needed.
• Assists warranty administration with technical information and claim merit.
• Monitors and assesses the technical proficiency of technicians and staff.
• Provides feedback to technicians and service supervision to improve proficiency.
• Educates to enhance service team technical proficiency.
• Liaises between dealership and equipment manufacturers for technical information.
