Job summary

DICK’S Sporting Goods is seeking a Team Captain of On Field Operations to lead execution across the sales floor, coach teammates, and deliver an athlete-first shopping experience. You’ll manage priorities, plan staffing, and ensure merchandising standards while driving strong customer service.

In this role, you’ll build and lead a high-performing team, oversee opening/closing, and uphold safety and policy compliance, creating a welcoming environment for both teammates and athletes.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• 1-3 years of experience in retail or customer-facing roles.
• Previous people leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead execution across the sales floor by ensuring strong merchandising, pricing, and athlete experience in all customer-facing areas.
• Coach teammates, manage priorities, and deliver a consistent, athlete-first shopping experience.
• Develop 30-60-90 day plans to support business priorities for assigned department(s).
• Oversee opening/closing procedures, Front End and Cash Office functions, teammate supervision.
• Ensure policies, safety, loss prevention, and SOPs are followed and compliance is maintained.
