Job description

Teacher Education Instructor Childcare – Adjunct Faculty

Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) invites applications for an adjunct faculty position to teach Child Care Provider / Preparation for Maryland Credentialing courses. Classes may be held in‑person, remotely synchronous, or 100% online via CCBC’s learning management system. Adjunct faculty must be available during semester dates and indicate preferred modality and campus location.

Class Description

CCBC is the college of choice for over 50,000 students and 200 businesses each year. We offer the region’s most expansive selection of degree, certificate and workplace certification programs across three campuses and three convenient CCBC centers.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and deliver course instruction in accordance with the CCBC common course outline.
  • Employ a variety of instructional strategies to meet the needs of a diverse student population.
  • Utilize the CCBC learning management system to upload materials, grade assignments and provide feedback.
  • Monitor student participation and performance, evaluate work, and maintain accurate classroom records.
  • Assure that evaluation methods are appropriate and consistently assess course objectives.
  • Provide at least one office hour per week per class taught.
  • Attend required training sessions, professional development, and departmental meetings.
  • Abide by college-wide policies and procedures.
  • Assist the department chair or coordinator as needed.
Minimum Requirements
  • Master’s degree in an education‑related field (required).
  • Five (5) years of teaching experience in licensed childcare and/or PK‑5 settings (required); college teaching experience preferred.
  • Expert knowledge of Maryland childcare regulations (required); working knowledge of the Maryland childcare credential program preferred.
  • Successful completion of an MSDE/Office of Childcare‑approved “train the trainer” session preferred.
  • Proficient use of learning management systems.
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft applications.
