Job summary

Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) is seeking adjunct faculty to teach PK-12 Special Education across Essex, Dundalk, and Catonsville campuses. In-person daytime courses, evenings online or 100% online via the learning management system are possible.

Adjunct faculty prepare and deliver instruction, monitor student progress, collaborate with support staff, and participate in trainings and required meetings. Availability and preferred modality should be indicated each semester.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in education-related field required; M.Ed. Special Education preferred.
  • Five years of PK-12 special education teaching experience required; college teaching preferred.
  • Expert knowledge of local, state and federal laws regarding special education procedures and policies.
  • Experience with learning management systems required.
  • Proficient computer skills and Microsoft Office knowledge.

Adjunct Teacher Education faculty are needed to teach classes atthe Community College of Baltimore County in pk-12 SpecialEducation. Classes may include in-person during the day, remotesynchronously in the evening, and 100% online through CCBC’slearning management system.

Adjunct faculty are expected to prepare and deliver instruction,monitor student progress, cooperate with college support staff, andparticipate in required trainings and meetings. Adjunct Faculty areselected based on the needs of the program, applicant proficiency,course availability, and student enrollment.

Campus Locations: Essex, Dundalk & Catonsville

Pay Level 1 - $1,050 per credit hour

Minimum Requirements
  • Master’s degree in education-related field required. M.Ed.Special Education preferred.
  • Five (5) years of teaching experience in pk-12 specialeducation setting required; college teaching experience preferred.Mentoring and/or coaching experience preferred.
  • Expert knowledge of local, state and federal laws regardingspecial education procedures, policies and laws required.
  • Expert knowledge of developmental stages and best practices inspecial education evaluation, methods, and assessmentrequired.
  • Proficient working with learning management systemsrequired.
  • Proficient computer skills and Microsoft applications knowledgerequired

  • Roth 403(b) is a savings feature that is available when youopen a 403(b) account. The Roth 403(b) savings feature allowsemployees to contribute after-tax dollars and then withdrawtax-free dollars from their account upon retirement. The Roth403(b) savings feature is only offered by the following vendors:TIAA-CREF and VOYA Financial Advisors, Inc. Adjunct Faculty, PartTime Associates and Full Time employees are eligible to save forretirement using the Roth 403(b) savings feature. Employees maycontribute traditional pre-tax 403(b) dollars and Roth 403(b)post-tax dollars simultaneously. The savings limits are combinedfor the Traditional 403(b) and the Roth 403(b) contributions.
  • Deferred Compensation Plan — 457(b) offered through VOYAFinancial Advisors, Inc. The 457(b) salary reduction authorizationform is needed. The form is available on SharePoint Forms/HumanResources Forms.
