Class Description
Adjunct Teacher Education faculty are needed to teach Child Care Provider / Preparation for Maryland Credentialing classes at the Community College of Baltimore County.
Classes may be delivered in-person during the day, remotely via synchronous evening sessions, or 100% online through CCBC’s learning management system.
Minimum Requirements
- Master’s degree in education‑related field required.
- Five (5) years of teaching experience in licensed childcare and/or PK‑5 setting required; college teaching experience preferred.
- Expert knowledge of Maryland childcare regulations required. Working knowledge of the Maryland childcare credential program preferred.
- Successful completion of an MSDE/Office of Childcare‑approved “train the trainer” session preferred.
- Proficient working with learning management systems.
- Proficient computer skills and Microsoft applications knowledge.
Class Specific Essential Duties
- Fulfill department and college responsibilities as directed by the department chairperson and/or coordinators.
- Use CCBC common course outline to develop course syllabus; prepare and deliver course instruction while adhering to college and department policies.
- Employ a variety of instructional strategies to meet the needs of a diverse student population.
- Utilize the CCBC learning management system.
- Monitor student participation and performance, evaluate student work, and provide timely feedback.
- Keep and submit accurate classroom records.
- Assure that evaluation methods are appropriate and effectively assess established course objectives in a consistent and equitable manner.
- Provide one office hour each week per class taught.
- Attend required training sessions, professional development, and departmental meetings.
- Abide by college-wide policies and procedures.

Compensation
Level 1 – $1,050 per credit hour.

Tuition Assistance
