Job summary

Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) is seeking adjunct faculty to teach day, evening, weekend, and online classes. Instructors will prepare and deliver instruction, work with staff, and support program accreditation efforts.

Minimum requirements include a Master’s in a business field or MBA, and two years of teaching experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Office is expected, and prior college teaching is preferred.

  • Master’s of Science degree in a Business related field or MBA.
  • Two years teaching experience.
  • Special competence and three years in relevant academic or technical field.
  • Proficient computer skills and Microsoft applications knowledge.
  • Prior college teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Fulfills department and college responsibilities as directed by the program director and/or course coordinator.
  • Abides by College wide policies and procedures regarding classroom conduct.
  • Ensures instruction meets or exceeds standards established by the accreditation council.
  • Employs a variety of teaching strategies to meet a diverse student population.
  • Adheres to the scheduled time of class/lab.
  • Develops a course syllabus in keeping with program and College policies.
  • Ensures evaluation methods are administered consistently and equitably.
  • Assure evaluation methods are appropriate and effectively assessing course objectives.
  • Monitors student performance and provides timely feedback.

Business Studies Adjunct faculty are needed to teach day (evening,weekend, and/or online) classes at the Community College ofBaltimore County. Adjunct faculty will be expected to facilitatelearning via preparation and delivery of instruction, cooperationwith College support staff in timely submission of materials andgrades as required and, coordination of activities with theDepartment Chair or Coordinator. Adjunct faculty are selected basedon program needs and subject matter expertise of the applicant.Adjunct faculty are required to attend department meetings,participate in professional development related to classroominstruction and pedagogy, be available to students outside of classand, assist in maintaining program accreditation.

Minimum Requirements
  • A Master’s of Science degree in a Business related field orMasters of Business Administration
  • Two (2) years teaching experience

Pay Level: 1,085.00 per credit hour

  8. Assure that evaluation methods are appropriate and effectivelyassessing the established course objectives
  9. Monitors student performance on a regular basis and providesfeedback within a reasonable timeframe to students

    The 403(b) supplemental retirement plan is available to all CCBCemployees (Adjunct Faculty, Part Time Associates and Full Timeemployees).
  • Roth 403(b) is a savings feature that is available when youopen a 403(b) account. The Roth 403(b) savings feature allowsemployees to contribute after-tax dollars and then withdrawtax-free dollars from their account upon retirement. The Roth403(b) savings feature is only offered by the following vendors:TIAA-CREF and VOYA Financial Advisors, Inc. Adjunct Faculty, PartTime Associates and Full Time employees are eligible to save forretirement using the Roth 403(b) savings feature. Employees maycontribute traditional pre-tax 403(b) dollars and Roth 403(b)post-tax dollars simultaneously. The savings limits are combinedfor the Traditional 403(b) and the Roth 403(b) contributions.
  • Deferred Compensation Plan — 457(b) offered through VOYAFinancial Advisors, Inc. The 457(b) salary reduction authorizationform is needed. The form is available on SharePoint Forms/HumanResources Forms.
