Job summary

Phillips Tank & Structure (PTS) is hiring a full-time Tank Builder/Welder for nationwide opportunities. The role involves arc cutting, welding different processes, and operating heavy lifting equipment. You will read detailed drawings, plan sequence, and contribute to safe, high-quality tank construction projects across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Be able to lift 50 lbs.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Be eligible to work in the United States; background checks required and pre-hire drug testing.
• Have a valid driver’s license and be willing to motor vehicle record checks.
• Welding ability is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Performing arc and torch cutting and gouging.
• Using generators, compressors, tuggers, blowers, grinders, and other power and air tools.
• Welding plate with 7018, 7024 and 6010 SMAW, FCAW, and submerged arc machines.
• Using come-alongs, hydraulic jacks, hoists, and other lifting equipment.
• Using tank shell buggies, scaffolding, ladders, and other equipment.
• Performing non-destructive tests and quality examinations.
• Using gas monitors, respirators, and safety kits.
• Operating forklifts and boom lifts and other large lifting equipment.
• Reading erection and fabrication drawings; planning sequence of welding and construction.
• Completing job safety analyses and site-specific training; maintaining safety standards.
• Following directions and collaborating with crew members.
• Other duties as assigned.
