Job summary

Phillips Tank & Structure (PTS) is hiring a full-time Tank Builder / Welder to support nationwide tank construction projects. The role requires using arc and torch cutting, welding, and lifting equipment, working with crew to fabricate and repair above-ground metal storage tanks.

Candidates should have strong communication, problem solving, and reliable attendance, plus the ability to pass background checks and pre-hire drug testing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Be eligible to work in the United States.
• Be willing to authorize background checks.
• Be willing to submit to pre-hire, random, and post-incident drug testing.
• Be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform arc and torch cutting and gouging.
• Welding plate with 7018, 7024 and 6010 SMAW, FCAW, and submerged arc machines.
• Operate generators, compressors, tuggers, blowers, grinders and other power/air tools.
• Read detailed erection and fabrication drawings.
• Plan the sequence and methods of fitting up, welding, repairing, and constructing tanks.
• Follow safety protocols and participate in safety training.
