Job summary

Phillips Tank & Structure (PTS) is hiring a Tank Builder / Welder (Nationwide) for full-time work across the country, performing arc and torch cutting, welding, and tank construction. You will operate power tools, follow detailed drawings, and maintain safety standards as part of a collaborative crew.

Candidates should be reliable, 18+, with a HS diploma and the ability to lift 50 lbs. Welding experience is a plus, and background checks will be conducted.

Qualifications

• Have excellent attendance and show up to work on time every day.
• Be at least 18 years old.
• Be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Be eligible to work in the United States.
• Be willing to authorize background checks.
• Have no criminal convictions for dishonesty, sexual misconduct, violence, or acts of terrorism.
• Have a valid driver’s license.
• Be willing to authorize motor vehicle driving record checks.
• Be willing to submit to pre-hire, random, and post-incident drug and alcohol testing.
• Ability to weld is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform arc and torch cutting and gouging.
• Weld using various processes and rods (7018, 7024, 6010 SMAW, FCAW).
• Operate generators, compressors, tuggers, blowers, grinders and other tools.
• Handle lifting equipment and tank construction gear.
• Read detailed erection and fabrication drawings.
• Plan sequence of fitting up, welding, repairing, and constructing tanks.
• Complete safety analyses and site-specific training.
• Work with crew members to complete tasks.
