The L.E. Myers Co. in Glen Allen, VA is seeking a T&D Associate Estimator I to develop cost estimates for transmission, distribution, and substation projects as part of a structured training program.

The role involves collaboration with customers, subcontractors, and construction teams, and may require field visits with overnight stays. Ideal candidates will have basic reading of drawings and specs, strong Excel skills, and a drive to grow in a heavy utility construction environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to read construction drawings and specs to prepare time/cost/labor estimates.
• Proficient in Microsoft applications with emphasis on Excel.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates for transmission, distribution and substation projects.
• Plan and execute work to meet submission deadlines.
• Attend field walks with customers and subcontractors to determine constructability.
• Perform take-offs and evaluate quantities for estimates.
• Solicit material and subcontractor pricing for RFQ/RFP packages.
• Assist in change orders and project close-out.
• Track cost basis and support project lifecycle.
