Job summary

Shriners Children’s Texas is seeking a Switchboard Operator / Receptionist to answer the hospital switchboard, route calls to the proper department or person, and greet visitors, vendors, and patients with courtesy.

You will adhere to HIPAA and security requirements, issue visitor passes, and log donor details as needed. Bi-lingual English/Spanish is required; a High School diploma/GED and 2 years of receptionist experience are preferred; compensation is based on experience and equity.

Qualifications

• Bi-lingual English/Spanish required.
• Experience in receptionist or switchboard roles preferred.
• Strong customer-service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Answer the hospital switchboard promptly and direct calls to the proper party or department.
• Greet visitors and staff courteously and direct them to the proper personnel, ensuring HIPAA and security compliance.
• Issue visitor passes and provide clear instructions on hospital rules and regulations.

Please click here to learn more about our locations.Job DescriptionShriners Children's Texas is looking to hire a Switchboard Operator / Receptionist to answers the main switchboard for the hospital; directing telephone calls to appropriate department or person as well as to greet vistors, vendors and patients.Key Responsibilities:Answer the hospital switchboard telephone promptly and directs calls to proper party or paging staffGreet visitors and staff courteously with a smile and directs them to proper personnel, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and security regulationsIssues visitor passes to authorize persons and gives clear and concise instruction on hospital rules and regulationsAnnounces appropriate overhead pages promptly and accuratelyAccepts non-monetary donations and assists in moving them to appropriate areas. Makes notes name of donor, time, details of donation as applicable in the Security rounds log book.Accepts monetary donations and delivers sealed envelope to Business Office.
