Job summary

Shriners Children's seeks a Patient Access Representative to be the first point of contact for patients and caregivers during a life-changing event. Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls on the main operator line.
• Greet and direct patients and families for appointments.
• Accurately enter and update patient information in the computer system.
• Enter and update patient's insurance information.
• Check-in patients for scheduled appointments or admissions.
• Prepare and secure signatures on required treatment and billing authorization forms.
• Scan necessary documents into the EHR system.
• Verify insurance coverage for all patients receiving services.

Job Description

The Patient Access Representative is the first person that our patients and caregivers will have the opportunity to interact. This position provides support to our patients as they are experiencing a life changing event. The support is accomplished by working with the caregiver to schedule appointments, perform pre-registration and registration of new and existing patients, and providing patients with information regarding access to additional external financial resources. In this position, you will have the opportunity to support our patients with issues dealing with scheduling and questions for the provider(s). In addition, you will maintain compliance with hospital and regulatory agencies by obtaining various consents.

Key Responsibilities

The pay range for this position is $21.63 - $30.54/hour.

Compensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
