Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Technician to support the perioperative team under RN supervision. The role spans first, second, or assisting technician duties with a focus on asepsis, equipment coordination, and cross-department communication.

The ideal candidate will scrub basic procedures, apply sterile technique, and contribute to safe, efficient surgeries while maintaining detailed documentation and patient care standards.

Qualifications

• Maintains sterile environment with aseptic technique.
• Demonstrates basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology, microbiology and pharmacology for patient care.
• Applies basic knowledge of electricity, robotics, and lasers for surgical care.

Responsibilities

• Maintains asepsis and sterile environment.
• Organizes and coordinates supplies and equipment.
• Communicates with nursing staff and informs about tests or issues.
• Transcribes orders and schedules tests and exams.
• Prepares patients for transportation and care.
• Maintains accurate patient charts and logs.
