Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Technician to join the perioperative team. The role supports the RN-led surgical workflow as a first, second, or assisting technician and circulator across procedures.

Ideal candidates will scrub independently, apply sterile technique, and contribute to patient care using knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology. Carle Health offers sign-on and relocation bonuses for eligible applicants.

Qualifications

• Independently scrubs basic surgical procedures.
• Demonstrates problem solving related to the procedure.
• Applies basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, microbiology, and pharmacology for patient care.

Responsibilities

• Maintains sterile environment using aseptic technique.
• Organizes supplies and equipment for efficiency and cost control.
• Facilitates communication with nursing and other departments.
• Collects data on assigned patients as directed by RN and unit standards.
• Documents patient records accurately as directed.
