Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Technician to support the perioperative team under RN supervision. The role includes scrubbing, maintaining asepsis, preparing instruments, and coordinating supplies for efficient surgeries.

The position emphasizes patient care, accurate documentation, and collaboration with surgeons and OR staff. Sign-on and relocation bonuses are available to qualifying candidates, with opportunities across the Carle Health system.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or Surgical Technology training required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or required within 30 days.
• Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, microbiology and pharmacology.

Responsibilities

• Maintains sterile field and asepsis during procedures.
• Assists in organizing supplies and equipment for efficient operation.
• Facilitates communication between units and nursing staff.
• Documents data in patient records as directed.
• Transcribes orders and schedules tests and appointments.
• Prep patient and assist with transfers as needed.
• Supports inventory control and supply chain processes.
• Collaborates with surgeons and OR team to ensure readiness of trays and instrumentation.
