Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Technician to join the perioperative team as a scrub/assisting technician under RN supervision. The role includes ensuring asepsis, coordinating supplies and equipment, and supporting the OR team through each procedure.

The ideal candidate will have an Associate’s Degree or Surgical Technology credential, BLS, and strong knowledge of sterile technique, anatomy, and patient care in a surgical setting.

Qualifications

• Independently scrubs basic surgical procedures.
• Demonstrates problem-solving in relation to the procedure being performed.
• Applies knowledge of anatomy, physiology, terminology, microbiology, and pharmacology for patient care.

Responsibilities

• Maintains sterile environment using aseptic technique.
• Organizes supplies and equipment to support efficient operations.
• Facilitates communication with nursing staff and other departments.
• Documents patient data and orders accurately.
• Prepares patients for transport and assists with ADLs.
