Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Technician to join the perioperative team as a scrub, first, second, or assisting technician under the supervision of an RN. The role emphasizes asepsis, instrument readiness, and coordinated patient care.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or Surgical Technology Certificate required.
• BLS certification within 30 days (AHA).
• Independently scrubs basic surgical procedures and supports perioperative care.

Responsibilities

• Maintain sterile environment using aseptic techniques.
• Coordinate supplies and equipment for efficiency.
• Facilitate communication between departments and nursing staff.
• Document patient data and orders accurately in records.
• Prepare patients for transportation and discharge processes.
• Collaborate with surgeons and OR team to ensure readiness of trays and instruments.
