Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Technician to support the perioperative team as a scrub, circulator, or assisting technician under RN supervision. The role covers aseptic practice, instrument readiness, patient prep, and collaboration with surgeons and OR staff.

The position emphasizes accuracy in documentation, communication across departments, and participation in quality and infection control activities. Sign-on and relocation bonuses are available.

Qualifications

• Maintains sterile environment through aseptic technique.
• Demonstrates knowledge of anatomy, physiology, microbiology, and pharmacology.
• Applies principles of sterile technique during procedures.

Responsibilities

• Maintains sterile environment and ensures asepsis for procedures.
• Organizes supplies and equipment for efficient department operation.
• Facilitates communication between units and nursing staff.
• Documents patient data and orders accurately per standards.
• Prepares patients for transport and assists with activities of daily living.
• Collaborates with surgeons and OR team to ensure readiness of trays and instruments.
• Assists with room turnover and inventory control.
